Hansi, December 16 (NationPress) - Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Tuesday that Hansi will be recognized as the 23rd district of the state, representing a remarkable administrative achievement for the area.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the official announcement will be made within a week, and thereafter, Hansi will officially gain district status in terms of revenue administration.
During a ‘Vikas rally’, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation for three development initiatives worth Rs 77.30 crore.
Reflecting on Hansi’s rich historical and cultural heritage, CM Saini described it as a site of courage and sacrifice, once referred to as the gateway of Hindustan. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made during the First War of Independence in 1857, highlighting the historic Lal Sadak, which bears witness to the cruel actions of the British against freedom fighters.
He noted that Hansi’s significance goes back even further than the independence movement, mentioning that it was previously known as Asi and Asigarh, and served as the capital of the Satluj province during Emperor Harsha’s reign.
Reiterating the government's commitment to regional advancement, the Chief Minister stated that every effort will be made to ensure Hansi’s development.
He highlighted that projects worth Rs 1,008 crore have been implemented in the Hansi Assembly constituency in the past 11 years, compared to only Rs 253 crore during the previous Congress administration.
