Tarn Taran, Oct 30 (NationPress) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Member of Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal challenged both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday to state what they have accomplished for Punjab. She urged citizens to rally behind their local party, which has consistently defended their rights. The Bathinda MP conducted several public meetings in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency supporting party candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, emphasizing that the Akali Dal is dedicated to enhancing the various programs it has initiated for farmers and the underprivileged once it assumes power in 2027.
The Tarn Taran assembly bypoll is set for November 11.
“We will ensure housing for the homeless. The old-age pension will see an increase, along with the creation of five lakh jobs for the youth. We are also focused on providing jobs exclusively for Punjabis and will restrict outsiders from acquiring land in Punjab,” she stated.
Harsimrat Badal appealed to the public to back the regional party, asserting: “SAD has never misled for political advantage. We have consistently honored our commitments, whether it’s providing farmers with free electricity for tubewell operations or launching innovative social welfare initiatives like the old-age pension, aata-daal, and shagun. Both Congress and AAP have merely deceived the public. The Congress failed to fulfill its promise of loan waivers, and AAP, which vowed to eradicate drugs, is actually supporting the drug mafia and has engaged in drug sales.”
She held Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accountable for the widespread corruption and disorder in Punjab, noting how AAP leaders like Vijay Singla, Fauja Singh Sarari, and Amit Rattan are mired in corruption. Recently, a raid on DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar’s residence uncovered crores of rupees in cash and substantial gold, alongside documents linked to 60 properties.
She asserted that Punjab is suffering because AAP is plundering the state and diverting funds to support the party's coffers in Delhi and to contest elections in other states.
Harsimrat Badal encouraged people to support the party candidate, stating, “We need to stand in solidarity with the Dharmi Fauji family, whose member lost his job and faced oppression simply because his emotions were hurt by the assault on Sri Darbar Sahib by Indira Gandhi.
