Chandigarh, April 20 (NationPress) On Monday, Haryana's Chief Secretary, Anurag Rastogi, led a review meeting aimed at evaluating the advancement of various government initiatives in the sectors of sports, early childhood education, nutrition, and higher education.

Recognized as India’s premier sporting state, Haryana is ambitiously aiming for success at the 2036 Olympics. The state government has introduced Mission Olympic 2036 -- Vijayee Bhavah, a comprehensive long-term talent identification scheme designed to nurture children aged eight to ten into elite athletes with the potential to secure medals. The Finance Department has allocated initial funding for this initiative, which will be executed by the Sports University.

To ensure that every district, from Ambala to Nuh, has equal access to sporting opportunities, the One District, One Sport initiative is actively identifying local talent.

The newly proposed Khelo Haryana App, mentioned in the recent Budget, is also under development to facilitate athletes' access to vital sports-related information and opportunities.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that the state’s progress will be evaluated on its ability to deliver transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-focused governance, aligning with the national development vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Shekhar Vidyarthi, Commissioner and Secretary (Women and Child Development), underscored the significant advancements made in transforming anganwadi centers into high-quality early learning facilities for children aged zero to six. Over 4,000 centers have been upgraded with essential educational resources, including pre-school kits, toys, furniture, hygiene supplies, and RO drinking water, while an additional 21,962 centers have received tailored educational kits.

A dedicated workforce of 25,000 anganwadi workers has been trained across all 22 districts, supported by 88 state-level master trainers, to provide quality care and early education to countless children each day.

The Chief Secretary directed the Women and Child Development Department to establish clear, measurable targets for each actionable item and to ensure their completion within the designated timelines.

It was reported in the meeting that the NIPUN Bharat Mission will be expanded to encompass Grade V by March 2027 and that the transformation of anganwadi centers into high-quality pre-school education hubs is ongoing.

To improve health and educational tracking for the state’s youth, the administration is expediting the issuance of APAAR and ABHA digital IDs for all children aged zero to six.

Additionally, the Health Department has been assigned the task of creating a repository of regional nutritious recipes and ensuring strict adherence to health protocols for children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
