He departed for Prayagraj in the morning and will proceed to Ayodhya the following day to offer prayers at the Ram Temple.

This visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's arrival in Prayagraj on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister performed the holy ritual at the Triveni Sangam, the revered meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers. He also offered his respects to the River Ganga and kept his visit brief to minimize disruption for other pilgrims during the VIP presence.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13 and will last until February 26, has already attracted millions of devotees from India and beyond.

This monumental religious event is anticipated to break attendance records. To date, approximately 35 crore devotees have bathed at the Triveni Sangam. On Basant Panchami, hundreds of thousands gathered for the Amrit Snan, creating a vast crowd from various regions of the country.

Despite a recent stampede that resulted in 30 fatalities and over 60 injuries, the fervor among pilgrims remains unwavering.

In light of the tragedy, security measures have been greatly enhanced, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally supervising the arrangements.

The increased security was particularly visible during the Basant Panchami Amrit Snan, where thousands of devotees enjoyed a calm and well-organized dip at the Sangam Nose.

The UP Chief Minister had conducted a high-level review meeting from his official residence to ensure that all requisite arrangements were executed.

With another significant turnout anticipated today, authorities are committed to ensuring a secure and seamless experience for all participants.
