Prayagraj, Jan 13 (NationPress) Devotees have shown their heartfelt appreciation to the Uttar Pradesh government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the comprehensive arrangements made during the Maha Kumbh 2025 on Monday.
As one of the most esteemed Hindu festivals, the Maha Kumbh commenced on Monday with the auspicious 'Shahi Snan' at the Sangam in Prayagraj, where the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati converge.
This spiritual occasion, which occurs only once every 144 years due to a rare celestial alignment, started on 'Paush Purnima', drawing over 4 million devotees on its opening day.
Prayagraj has transformed into a spiritual nexus, welcoming saints, seers, pilgrims, and devotees from all over India and beyond.
The vast gathering witnessed participants engaging in the sacred act of taking a holy dip at the Sangam, symbolizing the purification of sins and the achievement of spiritual merit.
The Maha Kumbh, which will take place from January 13 to February 26, is projected to host an astounding 45 crore visitors, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual practices.
Extensive security measures have been established by the Uttar Pradesh government to guarantee the safety and comfort of all attendees.
Devotional activities, including aarti and various rituals, were performed with great enthusiasm, bringing people together in their shared faith.
In an interview with IANS, Sarita Yadav, a devotee from Rajasthan, expressed her happiness, stating, "It feels like we are in heaven to be here. The arrangements are good. We thank PM Modi and the state government for such an amazing experience."
Another devotee, Neelam Pacheriya, shared her thoughts with IANS, saying, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. We took a holy dip in the Sangam, and it is all due to the remarkable efforts and arrangements made by PM Modi and the authorities."
As the Maha Kumbh unfolds, it promises to deliver an unparalleled experience of devotion, faith, and cultural celebration to millions who make their way to the sacred city of Prayagraj.
