Chandigarh, Aug 4 (NationPress) In a significant move towards ensuring housing for all segments of society, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini delivered 'interim' house ownership certificates and plot allotment letters to a multitude of beneficiaries during a state-level event in Panchkula.
Reiterating the commitment of the state government, the Chief Minister emphasized that no underprivileged family in Haryana should remain without a home, highlighting the determination of the 'double-engine' government to promote inclusive development.
He noted that 1,144 beneficiaries in Sector-23 of Jagadhri received interim ownership certificates under the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana, while 3,884 rural beneficiaries across 58 villages received plot allotment letters under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0.
CM Saini pointed out that these initiatives extend beyond mere housing construction and reflect a broader ambition to empower the most vulnerable sections of society.
Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process, ensuring that only those truly in need benefited, he remarked, calling it a milestone in transparent and accountable governance.
The Chief Minister assured that no irregularities or corruption were tolerated during the implementation phase.
All data and procedures have been digitized and made transparent, with beneficiary selection based entirely on merit, he explained.
Highlighting the achievements of the 'double-engine' government, he stated, "We have fulfilled our commitment; land has been allocated, and financial assistance for housing construction has been provided. This has been made possible through strong cooperation between the Centre and the state."
Sharing notable accomplishments, CM Saini mentioned that under the first phase of the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana, 15,256 families across 14 cities have already been allotted 30-square-yard plots.
A subsidy of Rs 2.5 lakh per household is being provided under PMAY-Urban 2.0 for housing construction, he added.
Additionally, in rural areas under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0, the process to allot plots to 1.58 lakh applicants in 561 villages is currently in progress, he noted.
The rural beneficiaries will receive Rs 1.38 lakh under PMAY (Gramin), Rs 12,000 for toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and 90 days of unskilled labor wages under MGNREGA, the Chief Minister specified.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), 69,150 houses have been constructed in rural areas with Rs 579 crore in assistance, while 77,900 houses have been built in urban areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Shehri) with Rs 1,650 crore support.
The Chief Minister remarked that the state government is ushering in a new phase of development, transforming not just housing but also making revolutionary advancements in education, healthcare, employment, and basic infrastructure.
"Youth are becoming self-sufficient, women feel more secure, and farmers are thriving. This is just the beginning. Our aim is that no family in Haryana should live without a roof over their head," he stated.
During the event, State Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar praised the Chief Minister's leadership, noting that historic decisions are being made for the betterment of the poor, youth, and women.
He added that under CM Saini's guidance, housing initiatives in both rural and urban areas have been expedited.
Unlike previous administrations, where plots often remained unallocated, today beneficiaries receive both registered ownership and possession, he concluded.
