Chandigarh, Jan 14 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, announced on Tuesday that the state will extend housing assistance to all underprivileged families through the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana.
He stated during a review meeting of the Housing for All Department that the allocation of 100-square-yard plots will occur in a phased approach.
These plots will be located in developed colonies equipped with essential amenities, mirroring urban facilities. To support this initiative, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 100 crore.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that eligible families can finance their plot or flat allotment through banks, ensuring that no deserving family misses out on the scheme's advantages, even if they cannot make a lump-sum payment.
During the meeting, it was revealed that all eligible families lacking a house, land to construct one, or a flat, and earning less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually, have been identified. Over 5 lakh applications for 100-square-yard plots have been received under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana, with allotments set to proceed in phases.
Additionally, 50-square-yard plots will be allocated in mahagram panchayats. Under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana, more than 2.89 lakh families in urban areas who do not have a home and earn less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually have submitted applications. Among these, roughly 1.51 lakh have requested plots, while 1.38 lakh have sought flats.
Last year, provisional allotment letters were given to 15,256 applicants, as per an official statement. The meeting also highlighted that the Housing Board Haryana has developed a Property Management System (PMS) software to oversee data for around 80,000 allottees. Previously, records were maintained manually by estate managers, requiring allottees to visit the office for updates after making EMI payments.
Moreover, the Property Management System portal has been linked with the ‘jamabandi’ portal, allowing for property registrations under the Housing Board Haryana.
