Chandigarh, Jan 24 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Friday that the government aims to offer 200,000 government jobs to the youth based on merit over the next five years.

“In the last decade, our administration has successfully provided 1.71 lakh jobs to the youth. In addition to government job opportunities, we have initiated various schemes to assist young individuals in starting their own enterprises,” stated CM Nayab Singh Saini.

During the golden jubilee celebrations of Indira Gandhi National College in Ladwa, located in Kurukshetra district, the Chief Minister declared a financial grant of Rs 21 lakh for the institution.

He congratulated the professors, students, and administration on marking 51 years of the college's existence, emphasizing its pivotal role in transforming countless students into capable and responsible citizens.

“Institutions like IGN are essential in realizing the vision of a prosperous Haryana. Educational establishments are fundamental to the development of both the state and the nation,” he elaborated.

The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to enhance employment prospects for the youth.

This policy has been embraced by Kurukshetra University, allowing students to receive education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels under one roof, while also focusing on imparting vital skills.

To encourage higher education, the state has established 79 government colleges, with 32 designated exclusively for girls.

“Currently, there is a government college within a 20-km radius throughout the state. Additionally, 13 new universities have been created,” he added.

The Chief Minister pointed out that 1.71 lakh youths have been granted government jobs based on merit, without resorting to any form of corruption, and he plans to provide 2 lakh more jobs in the coming five years.

A department for foreign cooperation has been established to assist youth in seeking education and employment abroad.

Moreover, 35,000 youths have been issued free passports directly in colleges.

Haryana's youth have excelled in sports and various fields, bringing pride to the state on an international platform, he concluded.
