Chandigarh, Aug 13 (NationPress) As India gets ready to commemorate its 79th Independence Day, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini raised the Tricolour at his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, stating, "Our National Flag is a symbol of our pride and glory."
The Chief Minister unfurled the Tricolour as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
In a heartfelt appeal to the citizens, the Chief Minister urged, "To celebrate Independence Day, let every home display the Tricolour and engage in this celebration of national unity."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver his 12th consecutive address from the Red Fort on August 15.
On the eve of Independence Day, CM Saini flagged off the 'Tiranga Yatra', which is being led by girl students from Chandigarh, and will make its way through Punjab, arriving at Lal Chowk in Jammu and Kashmir on August 18.
This yatra, organized by the Media Student Association, aims to promote unity, respect for the National Flag, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood across the nation.
During the event, the Chief Minister paid homage to the portrait of Bharat Mata.
In his remarks, CM Saini congratulated the office-bearers and members of the association, especially the over 100 girl students participating in the march.
"This entire yatra is being led and managed by girl students. When our daughters spearhead any initiative, it gains sensitivity, determination, and resolve exponentially. This journey not only showcases the strength and courage of Haryana's daughters but also embodies the power of women across the nation. I wish all the girls a luminous future ahead," he articulated.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significant strides have been made for women's empowerment over the past 11 years.
He also pointed out that the recent 'Operation Sindoor' stands as a testament to India's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty.
India's two daughters, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi, led from the front, informing the nation about 'Operation Sindoor' with valor and honor, he concluded.
