Agartala, Aug 10 (NationPress) Just days before the nation celebrates its 79th Independence Day, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, actively participated in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative on Sunday, urging everyone to embrace the essence of Independence.
This national campaign saw Chief Minister Saha and other leaders distributing the national flag to households throughout the capital, with a particular focus on engaging children and women.
As they walked through neighborhoods, Chief Minister Saha and fellow leaders personally handed out the tricolor, motivating residents to display it proudly at their homes and significant locations.
While addressing the crowd, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this campaign, encouraging especially the youth to understand the national flag, honor the freedom fighters, and acknowledge their sacrifices in the long battle for India’s independence.
A dental surgeon by profession, Chief Minister Saha remarked that, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign has been embraced in Tripura for the past two years.
This year's campaign commenced on August 2 and is being executed in three phases, culminating with the Independence Day festivities on August 15.
“This initiative not only shows our respect for the National Flag but ensures we remember and honor the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters,” stated Chief Minister Saha, urging people to recognize those heroes who have laid down their lives for the country, or continue to serve diligently to protect our nation's integrity.
He further explained that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement transcends merely hoisting the flag; it aims to ignite the flame of patriotism within every heart.
On social media platform X, the Chief Minister expressed: “Celebrating the spirit of Independence! August is a month of pride, and the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative unites our nation. Today, I had the honor of distributing national flags to homes as part of a campaign organized by Shibnagar Modern Club and Amra Tarun Dal. Let’s remember the sacrifices of our martyrs and proudly wave the Tricolor!”
The event saw enthusiastic participation from residents, with children waving the Tricolor and chanting patriotic slogans, setting an inspiring tone for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations across Tripura.
The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, running from August 2 to 15, was initiated under the auspices of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage citizens to display the Tricolor at home and celebrate India's Independence.
The objective of this initiative is to kindle a sense of patriotism among the populace and raise awareness about the Indian national flag.
