Imphal, Aug 12 (NationPress) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday called upon every segment of society to actively participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, honoring the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives during the nation's struggle for freedom.
Saha, leading a grand 'Har Ghar Tiranga' rally on Tuesday, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating this campaign, which seeks to pay tribute to the heroes of India's freedom.
He noted that this marks the third occasion the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative has been celebrated, as per the central government's directive.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to honor our freedom fighters. Such initiatives also enhance patriotism, particularly among the youth,” Saha stated.
The Chief Minister encouraged the general populace, students, youth, women, farmers, workers, and government employees to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from August 13 to 15, coinciding with the 79th Independence Day festivities.
Previously, hundreds of school students and youth joined in a vibrant rally to celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The Chief Minister was joined by his cabinet colleagues, Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, and various prominent figures and intellectuals.
On Sunday and Monday, Saha also took part in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign in his assembly constituency, Bordowali, and the nearby Banamalipur assembly constituency.
In the capital of Manipur, Imphal, approximately 1,020 motorcyclists, including 137 police personnel, participated in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally', covering around 33 km.
This rally, part of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, was launched by Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, and Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh from the Hapta Kangjeibung area of Imphal.
Organized by the Manipur Police and the state's Youth Affairs and Sports department, the rally concluded at the Khongjom War Memorial complex, covering nearly 33.5 km.
