Haryana Executes Major Reshuffle of 44 IAS Officers; Ashok Khemka Assigned to Anil Vij's Office

Chandigarh, Dec 2 (NationPress) In a significant move, Haryana has reshuffled 44 officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for the first time since Nayab Singh Saini resumed the role of Chief Minister in October. Among those transferred is Ashok Khemka, a 1991-batch officer recognized for his closeness to Transport Minister Anil Vij, who has been designated as Additional Chief Secretary for Transport. Khemka holds the record as the most frequently transferred IAS officer in India, with over 55 transfers throughout his three-decade career.

The reshuffle was announced on Sunday night, impacting a total of 44 IAS officers.

Anurag Rastogi, from the 1990 batch, who was appointed as Chief Secretary three days prior, will now serve as Financial Commissioner (Revenue) while retaining his role as Additional Chief Secretary (Finance).

Sumita Mishra has been appointed as Home Secretary and will oversee the Jails and CID. The Chief Minister himself manages the Home portfolio.

Sudhir Rajpal has been tasked with the role of Additional Chief Secretary responsible for Health, Aviation, Medical Education Research, and AYUSH. D. Suresh has been made Resident Commissioner of Haryana Bhavan in New Delhi, and will also serve as Principal Secretary for Industries and Commerce. Shyamal Mishra has been assigned as Chief Administrator of the Haryana Trade Fair Authority, CEO of Faridabad and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, and Principal Secretary for the Civil Aviation Department.

The government has also appointed Sauji Rajni Kanthan as Transport Commissioner, Phool Chand Meena as Ambala Division Commissioner, and A. Shree Niwas as Hisar Division Commissioner and Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Nigam.

Anand Mohan Sharan will oversee Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs alongside the Department of Environment, Forests, and Wildlife. Vineet Garg has been named chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board in addition to the Higher Education Department.

Amit Kumar Agarwal has been appointed as Commissioner and Secretary for the Development and Panchayat Department, along with the Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture, and Foreign Affairs Departments.

Rajeev Ranjan has been named Principal Secretary for the Fisheries and Labour Departments, while Vijay Singh Dahiya has taken on the role of Commissioner and Secretary for the Printing and Animal Husbandry Departments.

Aminit P. Kumar has been assigned to the Women and Child Development Department and Archives Department as Commissioner and Secretary.

Mohammad Sain is now the Commissioner and Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department, and Sanjay June will serve as CEO of Faridabad Smart City Ltd. Ashima Barad, previously working with the Chief Minister’s Office, has been appointed as the Commissioner for Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Caste, and Backward Class Welfare, as well as Excise and Taxation and Managing Director of the Haryana Electricity Broadcasting Corporation. Sanjeev Verma was selected as the Director for the Departments of Sports, AYUSH, and Foreign Cooperation.
