Chandigarh, December 31 (NationPress) - The Haryana government has appointed Ajay Singhal, a distinguished senior IPS officer, as the new Director General of Police (DGP), succeeding O.P. Singh who has retired.
A member of the 1992 batch of IPS officers, Singhal is originally from Rewari district and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
With an extensive career spanning over three decades, Singhal has played a pivotal role in various critical areas such as law and order, crime control, vigilance, railway policing, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Special Branch, cybercrime, internal security, and intelligence operations. His practical experience and administrative skills have established him as a disciplined, analytical, and results-driven officer.
In acknowledgment of his exemplary service, Singhal received the Police Medal in 2008 and the President’s Police Medal in 2017, underscoring his professional integrity and steadfast dedication to public service.
