Haryana Government to Propose Legislation for Curbing Illegal Immigration: CM Saini

Chandigarh, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, declared on Friday that the state government is preparing to introduce a new legislation aimed at rigorously regulating illegal immigration.
This proposed legislation is set to be presented during the upcoming Budget session.
Additionally, the government is expected to launch a policy that will reward police personnel for their outstanding service.
This initiative will not only acknowledge and promote commendable work but also include provisions for strict disciplinary action against any failures in crime prevention.
The Chief Minister made these statements to the press following a state-level review meeting held in Panchkula with senior police officials to evaluate the crime situation and law enforcement in the region.
A comprehensive analysis of crime trends was conducted during this meeting.
Significantly, Haryana has seen a notable decline in crime rates.
Specifically, incidents of crimes against women have dropped in 2024 compared to the previous year, and the state has achieved remarkable advancements in tackling cybercrime.
The Chief Minister emphasized that police officials have been directed to implement stringent measures against criminal activity.
He assured that officers and personnel who demonstrate excellence will be duly recognized, while those exhibiting negligence will face stringent disciplinary actions.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister stated that Haryana Police have been empowered to take decisive action against crime and criminals.
A target has also been established to enhance the de-addiction campaign, aiming to make 70 percent of villages drug-free by the end of 2025.
Moreover, directives have been issued to enforce strict measures against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
The Chief Minister announced plans to establish a battalion of Haryana Police to bolster law and order in the Nuh district.
For this purpose, the relevant officer has been instructed to identify suitable land. Steps will also be taken to improve the efficiency of the Haryana 112 service and further reduce response times.
The Chief Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to implement schemes worth Rs 300 crore for modernizing the police force, as promised in its election manifesto.
