Chandigarh, Jan 9 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Friday that the state government has adopted a firm approach concerning law and order, emphasizing that any negligence in managing crime will not be tolerated at any level.
The Chief Minister stated that in regions where crime remains uncontrolled, the officers responsible will be held accountable, and if necessary, severe actions such as demotion will be enforced.
Speaking to the media following the pre-Budget consultation meeting, he reiterated that the police form a robust and competent force.
“However, if crime or the illegal drug trade is on the rise in certain areas, the Superintendents of Police and Station House Officers must self-reflect seriously. Conducting regular review meetings, identifying root causes of issues, and devising effective solutions are the responsibilities of the officers involved.”
He emphasized that when ordinary citizens, particularly women, report criminal activities or illegal operations in their vicinity, it is the duty of the police and the administration to respond promptly and effectively.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that ensuring law and order is the top priority of the state government and that no form of laxity will be accepted.
Furthermore, CM Saini instructed officers to ramp up efforts against crime and drugs to provide citizens with a safe environment and guarantee good governance in the state.
In addition, he mentioned that the upcoming state Budget will focus on the welfare of all citizens across various sections of society.
He added that the process of budget formulation is being made inclusive, ensuring stakeholder participation to present a genuinely welfare-oriented budget.
