To escalate the crackdown, history sheets were initiated for 19 accused individuals on November 15, raising the total number of criminals with newly initiated history sheets to 150. This increasing figure highlights the Haryana Police’s commitment to eradicating crime and reflects the operation’s successful outcomes toward making Haryana a crime-free state.
In a noteworthy development as part of this ongoing campaign, Karnal Police detained four infamous criminals linked to cases of snatching and firing. Following directives from the Haryana Director General of Police, Karnal Police achieved two significant milestones under Operation Trackdown, a dedicated effort to combat organized crime statewide. Demonstrating swiftness, vigilance, and a proactive approach, district police bolstered law and order through the capture of four wanted criminals involved in severe offenses.
The first significant action revolved around a robbery and snatching incident. On November 13, the suspects and their accomplices robbed the complainant, Kamaljeet, while he was walking along the canal bank toward the village of Kalri Nanhera. A case (number 650) was registered at Indri Police Station. Acting promptly, a team led by Sub-Inspector Sumit Kumar, under Inspector Vipin Kumar’s supervision, arrested the suspect, Yogesh, son of Dan Singh, a resident of Nauratha, Indri, Karnal.
Reports indicate that Yogesh is a hardened criminal with a high skill set. Beyond the robbery case, he faces eight additional charges registered at Indri Police Station under various serious sections, including theft and offenses related to the Arms Act. Following extensive interrogation, Yogesh was presented in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody in the district jail.
Karnal Police also secured another success in the CNG petrol pump firing case. Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Karnal, and via continuous surveillance as part of Operation Trackdown, a team from Gharaunda Police Station, acting on reliable information, arrested three wanted suspects. These individuals had caused panic by firing indiscriminately following a minor altercation with a CNG pump employee in Gharaunda on the night of October 13, prior to fleeing the scene.
The arrested individuals were identified as Jitendra, son of Satpal (Panipat); Sachin alias Ricky, son of Harish Bhardwaj (Shivah, Panipat); and Deepak, son of Karamveer (Jatal, Panipat). A case was filed against them under Section 109(1) of the IPC and relevant provisions of the Arms Act in case number 624 at Gharaunda Police Station. All three were taken on production warrants for thorough interrogation.
The main suspect, Jitendra, already has four serious charges against him, including attempt to murder, rioting, and fraud. After interrogation, all three suspects were once again presented in court and subsequently sent to the district jail.
