New Delhi, Nov 17 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday paid his respects to Ashok Singhal, a leading figure in the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and a key player in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, on his death anniversary.

In a post on X, HM Shah expressed, “The visionary behind the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan, Ashok Singhal Ji devoted his entire existence to religion, nation, and culture. He renounced all comforts, choosing instead to serve self-culture and self-faith throughout his life. Today, on his death anniversary, I reflect on his legacy and honor his sacrifices and dedication.”

Regarded as a pivotal architect of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Singhal remains an iconic personality in the cultural and ideological history of the Sangh Parivar.

Union Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda also paid a heartfelt tribute.

He remarked, “On this day commemorating the revered figure of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Ashok Singhal Ji, who redirected the course of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, I extend my heartfelt salutations. Your life stands as a unique emblem of the commitment to uphold Sanatan culture and safeguard our nation. Your efforts in restoring the nation’s cultural heritage are truly inspiring.”

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also expressed his respects, stating, “On this memorial day of the esteemed leader of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Ashok Singhal Ji, I offer my respectful homage.” His succinct message highlighted Singhal’s lasting impact within the broader nationalist movement.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined fellow national leaders in honoring the VHP stalwart.

In his post on X, CM Yogi wrote, “On the death anniversary of the pioneer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement and former international president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ashok Singhal Ji, we pay our humble tribute! His life was entirely devoted to patriotism, religious dedication, and the renaissance of Indian culture. Inspired by Singhal Ji’s sacrifice and resolve, we persistently advance in safeguarding national interests and timeless values.”

Ashok Singhal, who departed in 2015, remains synonymous with the prolonged movement that culminated in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
