Mumbai, Nov 17 (NationPress) Pankaj Tripathi and his spouse, Mridula Tripathi, are embarking on a theatrical journey with their debut production under Roopkatha Rangmanch, titled Lailaaj, a vibrant musical comedy.

This project holds a special significance for the family as their daughter, Aashi Tripathi, is set to make her stage debut alongside them. Pankaj expressed his sentiments, stating, “What makes this even more special is that our daughter, Aashi, is making her stage debut with this musical. As a father, I feel immense pride; as an actor, I feel a deep sense of responsibility; and as a producer, I feel the excitement of creating something meaningful.”

“Observing her during rehearsals, witnessing her struggles, improvements, and eventual brilliance takes me back to my own early days. Aashi’s performance in Lailaaj is not merely a family milestone, but a reminder that every artist should cherish the creative process, and theatre provides the purest environment for that passion to flourish. I hope the audience extends the same warmth, curiosity, and encouragement to this play as they have consistently shown me,” he added.

Reflecting on the emotional ties to their production house, the ‘Main Atal Hoon’ actor remarked, “Roopkatha Rangmanch is more than just a production house for us; it is a heartfelt extension of our roots. My journey as an actor commenced on stage amidst the simplicity of backstage chaos, makeshift costumes, and the enchantment of performing for a live audience. Theatre has instilled in me values of sincerity, patience, emotion, and discipline. I owe much of who I am today to those formative years spent in the spotlight and behind the scenes. When Mridula and I decided to launch our own banner, I felt a compelling urge for our inaugural production to pay homage to the medium that shaped my career. 'Lailaaj' stands as a humble tribute to theatre, the craft, and every artist who discovers their truth on stage.”

Their first production, 'Lailaaj', a musical comedy, is crafted, directed, composed, and lyrically driven by Faiz Mohammed Khan. This exciting piece will be showcased on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of this month at Rangshila Theatre in Mumbai.
