Jaipur, Aug 6 (NationPress) The Rajasthan High Court has denied a stay on the arrest of cricketer Yash Dayal, a fast bowler for the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in connection with a case concerning the alleged rape of a minor girl.
The court emphasized that due to the victim's status as a minor, no interim relief could be offered to the accused cricketer.
Justice Sudesh Bansal, overseeing the proceedings in Jaipur, also called for the case diary and scheduled the next hearing for August 22.
During the court session, Yash Dayal's attorney, Kunal Jaiman, contended that the matter was part of a broader scheme aimed at tarnishing the cricketer's reputation.
He noted that a similar rape allegation had previously been lodged in Ghaziabad, which the Allahabad High Court had temporarily halted.
