New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah paid homage to Swami Shraddhanand on his Balidaan Diwas (Martyrdom Day) this Tuesday.

In a post on X, HM Shah expressed, “Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati Ji made invaluable contributions to Swaraj and Indian culture while tirelessly combating social issues throughout his life.”

The Union Minister highlighted his substantial impact on promoting women's education and the Indian intellectual tradition. “I pay my respects to Swami Shraddhanand Ji on this Balidaan Diwas,” he stated.

Every year on December 23, we commemorate Swami Shraddhanand’s sacrifice, marking the anniversary of his assassination in 1926 by a radical individual.

Earlier, HM Shah, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, honored former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary.

“I pay my respects to former Prime Minister and esteemed farmer leader, Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji on his birth anniversary. His life was devoted to enhancing the agricultural framework, the welfare of farmers, and social service,” HM Shah wrote on X.

The Minister noted that the farmer leader courageously advocated for the interests of farmers and agriculture at the core of governance. He also played a pivotal role in dismantling the Emergency and authoritarian rule.

PM Modi remarked that a grateful nation will always remember Chaudhary Charan Singh’s significant contributions to nation-building, especially in agriculture, rural development, and social justice.

On social media, the Prime Minister shared a video honoring the legacy of the former Prime Minister. “Respectful tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to the upliftment of marginalized communities and enhancing agriculture and farmer prosperity. A grateful nation will always remember his role in nation-building,” stated PM Modi.

In the video message, the Prime Minister emphasized Chaudhary Charan Singh’s unwavering dedication to farmers, particularly those who are small and marginal.

PM Modi highlighted that Charan Singh worked diligently for the welfare of small farmers, ensuring their concerns were central to national policy-making. He asserted that the nation will always recall his efforts to empower rural India and strengthen the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the current government draws inspiration from Chaudhary Charan Singh’s ideals and vision. He pointed out that many initiatives taken by the government to support small-scale farming and empower farmers align with the principles laid down by the former Prime Minister.

Stressing the importance of inclusive growth, PM Modi reiterated that fortifying agriculture is vital for building a robust and self-reliant India.
