New Delhi, Nov 1 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah has forecasted a significant triumph for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, claiming that the coalition will obtain 160 out of 243 seats and establish a government with a two-thirds majority.

During the NDTV Bihar Power Play conclave, HM Shah expressed steadfast confidence in the voters' backing. “Bihar is among the most politically conscious states in the nation,” remarked the Home Minister, noting the remarkable advancements made over the last twenty years.

He attributed the improvement of Bihar's law-and-order landscape to CM Nitish Kumar, describing it as the foundation for development.

“If you ask any young person today, they will tell you how much safer Bihar feels under Nitish Kumar’s leadership,” he asserted.

Unveiling a comprehensive report on Bihar’s growth, HM Shah pointed out notable achievements like the building of four bridges over the Ganga, with plans for ten more, a robust strategy for self-employment, and the near-elimination of Maoist threats.

“In the past, discussions were dominated by robbery and violence. Today, it’s about growth and opportunities,” he commented.

Reaffirming the NDA’s leadership position, HM Shah stated that Nitish Kumar will represent the alliance.

“I’ve emphasized this numerous times -- we are contesting under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He is our Chief Minister,” he confirmed.

Nonetheless, he acknowledged that the ultimate decision regarding the Chief Ministerial role would adhere to constitutional norms post-elections.

The opposition Grand Alliance, spearheaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has put forth Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate and has persistently criticized the NDA for not unveiling its own candidate.

HM Shah dismissed these criticisms, suggesting that the NDA’s unity and achievements resonate more than political dramatics.

As Bihar approaches a pivotal electoral contest, HM Shah’s statements highlight the BJP’s strategic assurance and reliance on Nitish Kumar’s governance legacy.

The NDA's campaign seems to be centered on emphasizing developmental successes and stability, positioning itself as the optimal choice for Bihar’s future.

Point of View

Amit Shah’s assertions reflect the BJP’s strategic positioning as it navigates the complex political landscape of Bihar. The emphasis on development and law-and-order under Nitish Kumar's administration is pivotal, but the final electoral outcome remains to be seen amid ongoing opposition critiques.
