Bengaluru, Oct 23 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has raised alarms regarding an increase in severe crime incidents across the state, asserting that while these crimes escalate, Home Minister G. Parameshwara is preoccupied with betting activities.
During a press conference at the BJP State Office, Jagannath Bhavan in Bengaluru, National Yuva Morcha President and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya stated: “In just the past week, we have witnessed three shocking incidents of rape and murder involving young girls in Basavanagudi, Malleshwaram, and Gangondanahalli. In Mysuru, which is the Chief Minister’s home turf, a 9-year-old girl was tragically gang-raped.
“While such atrocious crimes unfold, your Home Minister is engrossed in Deepavali (Diwali) betting. This reflects the state of your governance,” he criticized.
“In the capital city, three rapes and murders occurred within just a week, yet neither the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Home Minister, nor any minister spoke out against these heinous acts,” he expressed sorrowfully.
“Due to the Congress' mismanagement, Karnataka has already lost $15 billion in investments to Andhra Pradesh. Instead of concentrating on development, your IT Minister is focused on banning the RSS, while the Home Minister is engaged in betting,” he alleged.
“To divert attention from its failures, the Congress government incessantly blames Prime Minister Modi and BJP MPs,” Surya emphasized.
“In this state, over 2,500 farmers have taken their own lives. Is Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be blamed for that? RTC employees are protesting for unpaid salaries. Is Prime Minister Modi accountable for that as well?” he questioned.
“In Hubballi and Dharwad, thousands of young people are demonstrating because the government has failed to fill vacant government and teaching positions. Extensive corruption is occurring under the pretext of tax collection in various departments.
The funds collected by the state are not being utilized for the welfare of the people of Karnataka but are instead funneled into election campaigns in Bihar,” he charged.
“Seven government employees have committed suicide under Congress governance. Contractors are protesting because the government has not released funds for their projects. When we were in power, we presented a surplus budget. Currently, Karnataka stands as one of the most indebted states in the country, with Rs 18 out of every Rs 100 of revenue going to interest payments,” he stated.
“Other than the Congress MLAs who are incarcerated, others are complaining about the lack of development grants. The Congress government invests more in guarantee schemes than in crucial areas like roads, education, irrigation, and health. Even the guarantee funds are not reaching the people. Where is that money going?” he questioned.
“Instead of empowering the people of Karnataka, your government has fostered dependency on the state. What will Siddaramaiah's legacy be after retiring from politics? Transforming a prosperous Karnataka into a debt-ridden state,” Tejasvi Surya remarked.
