Mumbai, Oct 24 (NationPress) Actress Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up to reveal an entirely new facet of herself in the forthcoming Tamil film “Jatadhara.”

The actress expressed that she has been eagerly anticipating the chance to portray a character that deviates significantly from her past roles. In an exclusive statement to IANS, she characterized this as an exhilarating opportunity to push her boundaries. Sonakshi extended her gratitude to the filmmakers for imagining her in such a distinctive role and bringing it to reality. Reflecting on her experience working on the film and her attraction to the role, Sinha shared, “I’ve been waiting for a long time to do a character like this. It’s completely different from anything I’ve done before, and that’s what made it so exciting for me. I want to thank the makers for envisioning me in such a role and bringing it to life.”

“Since my debut, people have remarked that I have an Indian face—some even referred to me as Bihar ki beti. However, my father always said, ‘You’re Hindustan ki beti.’ He used to claim, ‘If you play a character from any state, you'll blend right in.’ So here I am, delving into a side of myself I’ve never revealed before, and I’m genuinely excited to see how audiences will react,” the ‘Akira’ actress added.

Sonakshi Sinha is poised to make her Tollywood debut in “Jatadhara,” where she takes on the intense and commanding role of Dhanapisachini. Discussing the film, the ‘Dabangg’ actress stated, “What makes Jatadhara powerful is how it intertwines the supernatural with real human emotions. The fear here isn’t merely external; it’s something that lingers in the mind long after the story concludes.”

Sudheer Babu remarked, “This is one of the most intense and challenging roles I’ve undertaken. The story’s depth and the energy it carries are unlike anything I’ve experienced before.”

Directed by Venkat Kalyan, the upcoming supernatural thriller features Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha, along with Divya Khossla and Shilpa Shirodkar. “Jatadhara” will be released in theatres on Nov 7th, 2025, in both Telugu and Hindi.
