Kolkata, Dec 21 (NationPress) On the eve of his political party's launch set for Monday, the suspended Trinamool Congress legislator Humayun Kabir called for a coalition among all forces opposing the Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal. His aim is to challenge the government led by Mamata Banerjee in the upcoming Assembly elections next year.
"I urge all anti-Trinamool Congress and anti-BJP factions in West Bengal to come together. Let’s form a significant alliance for the Assembly elections next year. However, if any group believes they are above others and cannot set aside their pride, my party will go solo. If needed, I am prepared to nominate candidates in all 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal. I possess that capability," Kabir stated during a media interaction on Sunday evening.
He also mentioned that his current actions are entirely political, and he will take considerable time before making any decisions.
"My objective is to unite the minority voters. We aim to secure victories in at least 90 constituencies, enabling my party to play a pivotal role in forming a new government post the Assembly elections next year. Otherwise, my aspiration to establish a Babri Masjid in Belding, located in Murshidabad district, may remain unrealized," Kabir remarked.
Additionally, Kabir, who is the suspended legislator from Bharatpur in the minority-heavy Murshidabad district, discussed his logo preferences for his upcoming political entity, which he will unveil on Monday.
"My primary choice for the logo is 'table'. The second option is 'twin roses'. If I can't secure either of those, I'll consider a third alternative," he revealed.
Although he has not disclosed the name of his new party, Kabir assured that it will not include the terms 'Congress' or 'Trinamool'."However, the people of West Bengal will be able to resonate with this party. Our party will represent the general populace and focus solely on mass development," he concluded.
