Hyderabad, Nov 24 (NationPress) In an unexpected move, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar surprised many with his late-night expedition to the homes of known rowdy-sheeters. The purpose was to review their criminal backgrounds, assess their current lifestyles, and deliver a stern warning against further criminal behavior.

The Commissioner, recognized for his unconventional approach, carried out night patrols using a police vehicle within the jurisdiction of Langar Houz Police Station on Sunday night.

Without activating any sirens or making noise, he proceeded directly to the residences of rowdy sheeters located in MD Lines, Hashim Nagar, and Defence Colonies.

Waking the rowdy sheeters, he inquired about their criminal histories, current lifestyles, means of livelihood, and social interactions.

The Police Commissioner cautioned them that stringent actions would follow if they engaged in criminal activities again. They were urged to abandon their unlawful tendencies and pursue a more lawful path.

Sajjanar's surprise inspection spanned from midnight to 3 a.m., where he examined key roads and sensitive locations within the confines of Langar House and Toli Chowki police stations.

He also visited various hotels, shops, and businesses that operated late at night in the Toli Chowki vicinity, warning shopkeepers that strict consequences would ensue if they violated nighttime operation regulations.

The Commissioner assessed the readiness of the patrolling officers and the measures being implemented to ensure public safety during the night. He personally interacted with constables and officers on duty, gathering insights on patrol efficiency, response times, and issue resolution.

Following this, he visited the Toli Chowki Police Station, meticulously reviewing the station's general diary, nighttime entries, attendance records of the staff on duty, and their assigned responsibilities.

Sajjanar emphasized that, beyond enhancing nighttime policing, these surprise visits aim to evaluate field-level staff responsiveness directly. He believes such initiatives will not only elevate the staff's sense of accountability but also enhance service quality.

He instructed the officers to prioritize visible policing and confirmed that rigorous crime monitoring is underway throughout the city.

The Commissioner urged the team to maintain heightened vigilance for the security of Hyderabad and ensure immediate readiness to respond to any arising issues.
