Hyderabad, May 6 (NationPress) In its ongoing crackdown on illegal encroachments, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has successfully dismantled unauthorized constructions in Gachibowli.
HYDRAA personnel took down illegal buildings within the Fertilisers Corporation of India Employees’ Cooperative Housing Society layout, specifically in the Sandhya Convention area.
The agency's enforcement team identified numerous unauthorized constructions that encroached upon roads and parks without obtaining necessary layout approvals. Structures erected without appropriate permissions were demolished using bulldozers.
This demolition operation was initiated following several complaints regarding encroachments on public roadways. Plot owners reported that their properties were becoming obscured by these unauthorized constructions.
Structures such as the Sandhya Convention mini hall, kitchens, and restrooms were removed by HYDRAA. Additionally, tin sheet barriers placed on encroached land were dismantled, along with three iron sheds constructed as G+2 structures.
HYDRAA has been actively addressing encroachments based on complaints received during Prajavani, a public interaction program held every Monday.
Prajavani focuses on resolving public grievances, particularly those concerning the encroachment of lakes, parks, and government properties.
According to HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, there is a growing willingness among citizens to safeguard government assets. He noted an increase in public trust towards HYDRAA due to the swift resolution of complaints.
The IPS officer highlighted that residents are voluntarily coming forward, as HYDRAA resolves long-standing issues in just days. Observing the encroachment of government-owned lands and public spaces, citizens are lodging complaints during Prajavani.
On May 5, a total of 54 complaints were submitted during Prajavani. These were assessed by Varla Papayya, the Additional Director of HYDRAA’s Fire Department, who investigated the motivations behind the complaints. After analyzing them using Google Maps and satellite images, he recommended further action.
In a significant development, HYDRAA plans to enhance its anti-encroachment efforts with the inauguration of its police station on May 8. Residents will have the opportunity to report encroachments and unauthorized constructions on public lands at this facility.
Furthermore, a special court has been established at the Ninth Additional Magistrate Court in Nampally to expedite the hearing of cases related to HYDRAA.
