Here’s the complete interview:
IANS: Many in Bihar express concerns over unemployment and challenges. What are your thoughts on the current scenario?
Tej Pratap Yadav: The populace is distressed and anxious; they are in dire need of jobs. The decision of who will become Chief Minister rests with the people. The public will determine whom they empower, and the Janshakti Janata Dal will make its presence felt here. I have made significant contributions in Mahua. Previously, residents had to travel to Patna for medical care, but now they can receive treatment right here in Mahua. I have strived for their welfare. The community seeks job opportunities; however, they are scarce.
There were inadequate roads in Mahua. We have undertaken development initiatives, including the establishment of a medical college. Roads will be constructed, and we will succeed.
IANS: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav recently made announcements regarding development. How do you respond to his claims?
Tej Pratap Yadav: Every leader makes promises, but it’s Tej Pratap Yadav who has the competence to deliver results. Visit the medical college we have established. I am unconcerned with what others assert.
IANS: You frequently refer to your family’s influence. How do you perceive your parents’ role and the support from the people in your political journey?
Tej Pratap Yadav: I am grateful for the blessings of my mother and father. Above all, I cherish the blessings of the people of Mahua. No blessing holds greater value for me.
IANS: What message do you have for political leaders who, in your view, neglect grassroots work?
Tej Pratap Yadav: Leaders who evade grassroots responsibilities typically work from comfortable offices. Those who remain grounded stay in touch with the community, and we are committed to working on the ground.
IANS: How do you distinguish your political strategy from others?
Tej Pratap Yadav: Those who are rooted in the community maintain a connection to the land. That’s why I chose to ride a bike to meet my constituents, unlike those leaders who travel in air-conditioned vehicles.
