The remains of the fallen pilot are anticipated to reach Kangra by Saturday.
In an interview with IANS from Kangra, Joginder Syal, Namansh’s uncle, recounted: "Yesterday, around 3 p.m., my brother reached out to me from Coimbatore, informing me about Namansh's accident. I reside in Sidbari, and our upstairs tenant, an IAF engineer currently on leave, was notified. My wife went to confirm the news through their connections at IAF."
"Upon confirming through their channels, they indicated a catastrophic explosion and that the young pilot had lost his life. I then called my brother to relay the confirmation, solidifying our disbelief in this unfortunate incident," he added.
SDM Munish expressed to IANS: "This represents a significant loss for Nagrota Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh, and the entire nation. The tragic passing of a Wing Commander has profoundly affected the state and its citizens. According to the initial reports, the remains are expected to arrive around 2 p.m., followed by the last rites in accordance with state protocols.”
Earlier that day, the IAF confirmed that an IAF Tejas aircraft had an accident during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show.
An official noted that the pilot suffered fatal injuries in the mishap.
"The IAF deeply regrets this loss of life and stands in solidarity with the grieving family during this difficult time," stated the Defence.
The IAF has initiated a court of inquiry to investigate the cause behind the accident, which occurred during one of the world's most significant aviation exhibitions.
