Jaipur, March 3 (NationPress) India is a strong proponent of the P3 (Pro Planet People) strategy and is always ready to share its experiences and insights with the global community in its pursuit of a Circular Economy, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

In a specially crafted message for the attendees of the three-day ‘12th Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum in Asia’ that commenced here, PM Modi's address was joined by notable figures such as Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, among others.

The Prime Minister underscored the significance of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) framework and Circular Economy principles in promoting sustainable urban development and optimizing resource use.

He emphasized India's leadership role in global sustainability initiatives, including 'Mission LiFE' (Lifestyle for Environment) and the Panchamrit Goals introduced at COP26, reaffirming India’s pledge towards a net-zero future.

During the event, Manohar Lal praised Jaipur as an exemplary location due to its strong traditions in sustainability practices like rainwater harvesting and the production of handicrafts from recycled materials.

Following PM Modi’s vision, he introduced the Cities Coalition for Circularity (C-3), a multi-nation collaboration aimed at enhancing city-to-city partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and engaging the private sector.

“We suggest that a working group of member nations be established post-forum to finalize the coalition’s structure and operational strategy,” mentioned the Union Minister.

This forum is intended to be a catalyst for resource efficiency and a low-carbon economy, promoting collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers to foster a sustainable future.

“The Circular Economy is not merely an environmental duty but an economic imperative,” said Manohar Lal.

The Minister also highlighted India's commitment to bio-CNG, plastic waste management, and e-waste recycling, reaffirming the government's dedication to build a low-carbon, resource-efficient society.

Manohar Lal announced the adoption of the Jaipur Declaration (2025-2034), a non-political, non-binding commitment that will steer the upcoming decade's efforts towards resource efficiency and sustainable urban development.
