The Indian Army contingent features 120 personnel from a Battalion of the Madras Regiment, while the Royal Thai Army is represented by 53 personnel from the 1st Infantry Battalion, 14th Infantry Brigade.

The joint exercise will primarily concentrate on company-level counter-terrorist operations in semi-urban settings, adhering to Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. The two-week program includes tactical drills, joint planning, special arms skills, physical fitness, and raiding operations.

The latest edition strengthens the bilateral defense cooperation and illustrates the shared commitment of both armies towards promoting peace, stability, and security in the region.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Thailand in April this year for the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, met with his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

In their Joint Declaration on the Establishment of the India-Thailand Strategic Partnership, both leaders underscored the importance of Political Cooperation, Defense and Security Cooperation, Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation, Connectivity, Socio-cultural, Educational and People-to-People Exchanges, and Regional, Multilateral and International Cooperation.

They also highlighted the need to enhance security cooperation through regular dialogues and exchanges between their respective security and law enforcement agencies. This aims to tackle the increasingly complex global and regional security landscape and collaborate on both traditional and non-traditional security challenges, including defense, maritime security, cybersecurity, counter-terrorism, law enforcement, and combating transnational organized crimes like cyber-crimes.
