Bhopal, Sep 2 (NationPress) In a bold move to elevate eco-tourism and adventure tourism, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) has unveiled two major events poised to captivate tourists this year.

The first event, the Gandhisagar Forest Retreat, is set to launch on September 12 at the beautiful Gandhisagar Dam in Mandsaur district, while the Kuno Forest Retreat will kick off on October 5, located near Kuno National Park in Sheopur district. Both locations are becoming prominent centers for eco-tourism and adventure activities.

The Gandhisagar Forest Retreat aims to firmly establish Madhya Pradesh on the adventure tourism map, while the Kuno Forest Retreat is designed to be a wellness and wildlife tourism hotspot.

Moreover, Kuno National Park (KNP), which made headlines with the historic reintroduction of cheetahs, will offer a distinctive mix of eco-tourism alongside cultural heritage. This retreat is set to revolutionize tourism with a strong commitment to environmental protection and community involvement.

These initiatives are expected to draw tourists from both India and abroad, while also generating employment opportunities for local residents.

MPTB's Managing Director, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, expressed at a press conference on Tuesday that both events are crafted to prioritize tourism, environmental conservation, community engagement, and sustainable development.

"Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy high-end, fully equipped glamping accommodations and partake in various adventure activities, including parasailing, paramotoring, jet skiing, hot air ballooning, jungle safaris, night walks, and stargazing," Shukla stated.

In addition to a year-round tent city, activities like boat safaris, boat spas, yoga, wellness sessions, local culinary experiences, handicraft exhibitions, and cultural performances will immerse tourists in the vibrant culture and lifestyle of Madhya Pradesh.

Shukla emphasized that this initiative not only aims to elevate Madhya Pradesh's tourism profile on both national and international stages but also seeks to stimulate the local economy and create new job opportunities.

He further pointed out that promoting nature and adventure tourism is expected to boost the influx of thrill-seeking tourists while preserving local culture and traditions. This will also educate the younger generation about the state's rich heritage and natural assets, Shukla added.

Point of View

These initiatives by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board demonstrate a commendable commitment to sustainability and community engagement. They not only enhance the state's tourism appeal but also serve as a model for balancing economic growth with environmental and cultural preservation.
