Bhopal, Feb 25 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh has attracted investment proposals totaling ₹4,468 crore in the tourism and hospitality sectors during the recently concluded Global Investors Summit (GIS).
During the closing event at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that under the insightful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh offers boundless opportunities and significant potential for tourism investments.
"Recognizing the state's growing tourism industry and increasing investments, I strongly believe that future Global Investors Summits will solely focus on tourism," Yadav stated.
He highlighted that ongoing efforts aim to enhance tourism infrastructure, boost connectivity, and guarantee that visitors enjoy an unforgettable experience within the state.
Pointing out the strength of the tourism sector, the Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh not only offers exceptional wildlife tourism experiences but also actively promotes environmental conservation and the idea of coexistence.
"Wildlife thrives in villages without fear. Cheetahs are often spotted near villages in Sheopur, and tigers have even been seen in the urban areas of Bhopal. This unique balance between tourism and environmental protection is a hallmark of Madhya Pradesh," the Chief Minister added.
Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat remarked during the occasion that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spotlighted three critical sectors -- Technology, Textile, and Tourism -- as essential to India's future growth.
"By 2047, tourism is projected to contribute more than 10 percent to India’s GDP. The rapid growth of India’s economy, along with the income tax relief in this year's budget, has enhanced the spending power of the middle class," Shekhawat noted.
He urged investors to capitalize on every opportunity in the state, expressing confidence that their investments would yield satisfying returns.
Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, who serves as the brand ambassador for MP Tourism, shared his experiences filming in Madhya Pradesh, recalling that nearly 20 years ago, he portrayed a guide in a movie shot in the state.
"That was my first encounter with the beauty of MP, and I have cherished it ever since. My connection with MP predates my role as its brand ambassador," he said.
