Hyderabad, Sep 2 (NationPress) The Congress party and the BJP have claimed that the conflict within the KCR family regarding the division of corruption funds resulted in the suspension of K. Kavitha from the BRS. While referring to Kavitha's suspension as an internal affair of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), leaders from both parties indicated that it stemmed from disputes within the family of BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) over the allocation of ill-gotten wealth.
Kavitha was suspended by her father on Tuesday due to alleged anti-party activities. This decision came shortly after she pointed fingers at her cousin and former minister T. Harish Rao, along with another cousin and former MP J. Santosh Rao, regarding the corruption claims against KCR related to the Kaleshwaram irrigation project.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud refrained from commenting on the suspension, labeling it an internal issue of the BRS. However, he noted that this situation was indicative of family infighting concerning the distribution of assets and corrupt earnings during the BRS administration.
“This is solely a party internal matter. I had previously mentioned that there are ongoing disputes within the KCR family regarding asset distribution and wealth,” he conveyed to the media.
The TPCC president emphasized that the Congress party is not involved in this matter. “Some suggest that we support Kavitha, while others claim we back Harish Rao and Santosh. We align ourselves with the people,” he stated.
Minister for Industries and Information Technology D. Sridhar Babu also classified Kavitha's suspension as a BRS internal matter.
BJP’s Telangana unit President N. Ramchander Rao remarked that Kavitha's accusations and her subsequent suspension highlight significant corruption during the BRS governance. He mentioned that although Kavitha's suspension is an internal party affair, it may arise from familial differences regarding the distribution of ill-gotten wealth.
Ramchander Rao noted that Kavitha accused her cousins of misleading KCR and receiving a larger share than others.
