New Delhi, Dec 12 (NationPress) The Indian automotive sector has marked its highest November sales this year, as passenger vehicle (PV) sales surged by almost 19% to reach 4,12,405 units compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Friday.
Sales of three-wheelers saw a growth of 21.3%, totaling 71,999 units, while the two-wheeler segment experienced a remarkable jump of 21.2%, bringing sales to 19,44,475 units.
Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, stated that the continued sales momentum in November 2025 was bolstered by festive demand and the government's forward-thinking GST 2.0 reforms.
“In November 2025, we witnessed record sales across all segments—passenger vehicles reached 4.12 lakh units (an increase of 18.7%), two-wheelers hit 19.44 lakh units (a growth of 21.2%), and three-wheelers recorded 72,000 units sold, marking a 21.3% increase from November of last year,” Menon explained.
The industry remains optimistic that ongoing supportive policy reforms, coupled with enhanced market sentiments, will sustain this growth trend into 2026, he added.
Notably, scooter sales soared by 29.4% to 7,35,753 units, reflecting strong urban demand.
Motorcycle sales rose by 17.5% to 11,63,751 units, driven by steady sales in rural and semi-urban areas.
Three-wheeler sales grew by 24.6% to 59,446 units in November, primarily fueled by passenger carriers.
Meanwhile, goods carrier sales went up by 10.9%, reaching 10,874 units, as per the data.
In terms of exports, passenger vehicle shipments from India saw an 18% year-on-year increase during the April–September period of the ongoing financial year. This growth was largely driven by robust global demand, particularly from the Middle East and Latin America.
During the first half of FY2026, total passenger vehicle exports climbed to 4,45,884 units, compared to 3,76,679 units in the same period last year, as per SIAM data.
