Washington, Oct 1 (NationPress) Indian Ambassador to the United States Vinay Kwatra met with the visiting officers from the Armed Forces Medical Services of India during their trip to the United States. In a post on X, Kwatra stated, “Had the opportunity to engage with Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin and other officers from the Armed Forces Medical Services of India, who are visiting the US to collaborate with their counterparts at US INDOPACOM, DHA, and the Departments of Army, Navy, and Air Force. This visit aims to strengthen cooperation in military medicine, which serves as a crucial component of the robust bilateral defense relationship between India and the US.
Despite ongoing tensions regarding trade, the security alliance between India and the United States has remained resilient.
Earlier in mid-September, Ambassador Kwatra met with the US Undersecretary of War for Policy, Elbridge Colby, at the Pentagon. “Had a fruitful dialogue with the insightful Elbridge Colby. We reviewed the current agenda and established actionable pathways for various initiatives concerning India-US defense collaboration. I appreciate his profound knowledge and unwavering support for our strategic partnership,” Kwatra mentioned in another post on X.
Colby reciprocated by describing the meeting as a “beneficial discussion.” He noted, “It was a pleasure to host @AmbVMKwatra at the Pentagon earlier this week for a valuable discussion. We at the Department of War are eager to continue enhancing our critical defense cooperation with India.”
These interactions took place shortly after the armies of both nations wrapped up the 21st edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025, the annual bilateral Army-to-Army exercise between India and the United States in Alaska.
The 21st edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025 concluded on September 14, following two weeks of rigorous training in Alaska.
In a statement issued on September 15, the Indian embassy in Washington referred to these exercises as a “hallmark of the growing military-to-military interaction between India and the US, which aligns with the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between both nations.”
