Washington, Dec 2 (NationPress) India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, welcomed a bipartisan assembly of US Senators for important discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship, emphasizing sectors such as energy, defence, and trade.
The Senators who participated included Republicans Lindsey Graham, Dan Sullivan, and Markwayne Mullin, alongside Democrats Peter Welch, Richard Blumenthal, and Sheldon Whitehouse, all gathered at the India House in Washington.
"It was an honor to host Senators Lindsey Graham, Richard Blumenthal, Sheldon Whitehouse, Peter Welch, Dan Sullivan, and Markwayne Mullin at the India House this evening. We had productive discussions regarding the India-US partnership, covering energy and defence cooperation, trade, and significant global events. I appreciate their commitment to enhancing the India-US relationship," Kwatra shared on X on Tuesday (Indian time).
The Indian Ambassador also convened with General Dan Caine, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, where they discussed defence collaboration between India and the US and regional matters of common concern.
"I had a constructive meeting with General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Our discussions revolved around our bilateral defence cooperation and regional issues of mutual interest," Kwatra posted on X.
Last week, Kwatra had an extensive conversation regarding the economic engagement agenda with Jacob Helberg, the 22nd US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs.
"I congratulated US Under Secretary Jacob Helberg on his new role. We discussed our economic engagement agenda, highlighting a mutually beneficial trade agreement, strategic trade dialogues, and technology cooperation, especially in the field of AI," Kwatra wrote on X.
On November 24, Ambassador Kwatra met US Representative Jay Obernolte and discussed potential avenues for collaboration in science, technology, innovation, and AI.
"I enjoyed my discussion with Rep. Jay Obernolte, Chair of the House Science, Space, and Technology Research and Technology Subcommittee. We explored opportunities for enhanced US-India collaboration in science, technology, AI, and innovation," Kwatra noted in a post on X.
