Georgetown, May 25 (NationPress) BJP MP Tejasvi Surya and JMM MP Sarfaraz Ahmad, who are part of a prestigious Indian Parliamentary delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, have landed in Guyana as part of a global diplomatic effort aimed at combating terrorism.

This visit is a component of a broader multi-country mission that also includes visits to the United States, Panama, Brazil, and Colombia.

Upon their arrival in Georgetown, they were greeted by India’s High Commissioner to Guyana, Dr. Amit Telang.

“High Commissioner Dr. Amit Telang welcomed Hon'ble Members of Parliament, Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmad and Shri Tejasvi Suryanarayana Lakya, upon their arrival in Guyana as part of an All-Party Indian Parliamentary Delegation,” the High Commission of India in Georgetown shared on X.

After landing, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya stressed the critical nature of their mission: “We have just arrived in Georgetown in Guyana following a lengthy 30-hour journey from India... We are here on a vital mission to convey and amplify the message from a billion Indians that, for far too long, we have been victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Thousands of civilians in India have been mercilessly and brutally killed — most recently on April 22nd by Pakistani terrorists in Pahalgam.”

JMM MP Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmad reiterated this sentiment, emphasizing the bipartisan nature of their initiative. “We have come here for a mission. It's a multi-party, all-party delegation. Following the recent attack in Pahalgam, the government convened all-party meetings led by the Defence and Home Ministers. Every Indian, regardless of political affiliation, has called for action. This outreach represents that unified stance,” he stated.

The all-party delegation comprises MPs Shashi Tharoor (INC), Shambhavi (LJP - Ram Vilas), Sarfaraz Ahmad (JMM), GM Harish Balayogi (TDP), Shashank Mani Tripathi (BJP), Bhubaneswar Kalita (BJP), Milind Murli Deora (Shiv Sena), and Tejasvi Surya (BJP), along with Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

Earlier on the same day, while in New York, other members of the delegation interacted with leading think tanks, academic institutions, and media platforms, delivering a strong message from India regarding zero tolerance and a united national resolve against terrorism.
