In response to circulating rumors regarding his departure from acting, Sooraj took to Instagram to set the record straight.
He stated: “There are several articles claiming that I have quit films… Let me clarify
That is completely false!”
He accompanied his message with a heart, folded hands, and a clapboard emoji.
Sooraj previously served as an assistant director on notable films such as Guzaarish, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and the Salman Khan-starrer Ek Tha Tiger. His acting career began in 2015 with the romantic action film Hero, co-starring Athiya Shetty. This film is a remake of Subhash Ghai's iconic 1983 film of the same name, which featured Jackie Shroff.
He later starred in Satellite Shankar, released in 2019. Directed by Irfan Kamal, the film features Sooraj and Megha Akash and revolves around the life of Indian soldiers, showcasing their adventures.
After Satellite Shankar, he appeared in Time to Dance, which tells the story of an injured ballroom dancer who finds hope with a new dance partner, striving for success while overcoming her painful past.
Following a four-year break, Sooraj returned to the big screen with Kesari Veer, a historical action film helmed by Prince Dhiman. This film also stars Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Sooraj Pancholi, and Akanksha Sharma, narrating the tale of Rajput warrior Hamirji Gohil, who defended the Somnath Temple from the Tughlaq empire.
As the release date approached, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan showed his support for the young actor.
Salman posted a video montage on Instagram featuring photos of himself and Sooraj. In one image, both actors rested their heads on their folded arms, gazing intensely at the camera, both dressed in black shirts. Salman sported slicked-back hair, while Sooraj had his hair tied in a top knot.
