Washington, Nov 17 (NationPress) Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi recently toured the Centre for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. During his visit, he received a comprehensive briefing regarding the Centre's vision, operational strategies, and its proactive initiatives in Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) capacity enhancement and fostering regional collaboration.
On the social media platform X, the Indian Navy shared on Monday, "As part of his ongoing official visit to the USA, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, CNS, visited the Centre for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance. The CNS was informed about the Centre’s strategic vision, operational efforts, and initiatives related to HADR, capacity development, and regional cooperation."
“Conversations were centered around bolstering collaboration and sharing best practices between India and the US regarding disaster response, Maritime Humanitarian operations, and resilience building throughout the Indo-Pacific. This visit highlighted our mutual dedication to enhancing regional preparedness and humanitarian alliances,” the statement elaborated.
On the preceding Sunday, Admiral Tripathi also paid a visit to the USS Daniel Inouye, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, where he was briefed on the destroyer's upgrades, multi-mission capabilities, and advanced maritime surveillance technologies.
He further toured Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, where he was apprised of the operational capabilities, ongoing initiatives of the US Pacific Fleet, and the various units stationed at the joint facility.
The Indian Navy's official statement indicated that Admiral Tripathi's visit underscores the significance of strengthening interoperability and enhancing operational synergy between the maritime forces of India and the US.
Currently, Admiral Tripathi is in the US for an official mission aimed at reinforcing the strong and enduring maritime partnership between the navies of India and the US, which serves as a vital cornerstone of the Defence Partnership between the two countries.
Last week, Admiral Tripathi engaged in a series of high-level discussions with senior US military officials to advance maritime cooperation between the two nations.
He met with Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral Stephen T. Koehler, Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, and Lieutenant General James F. Glynn, Commander of US Marine Forces Pacific.
"These interactions reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the Indian Navy and the US Navy, as well as the growing synergy with US Marine and joint forces—anchored in mutual trust, shared values, and a common commitment to a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific," noted the spokesperson for the Indian Navy on X.
