New Delhi, May 25 (NationPress) India’s ascent as the fourth-largest economy globally is a testament to the visionary leadership and robust governance provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remarked the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Sunday.
Describing this as a moment of pride for all Indians, Praveen Khandelwal, MP from Delhi's Chandni Chowk and Secretary General of CAIT, noted that this milestone signifies the triumph of PM Modi's economic reforms, initiatives in digital transformation, and policies aimed at inclusive development.
“India’s economic journey is characterized by reform, resilience, and recovery,” he stated, emphasizing that people-centric governance, fiscal discipline, and pro-business strategies have established India as a vital growth engine in the world.
Khandelwal underscored that significant initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, Startup India, Gati Shakti, and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes have been instrumental in enhancing infrastructure, attracting record foreign investments, and fortifying essential sectors of the economy.
He added that this achievement will open up greater avenues for small businesses to expand and integrate digital technologies more swiftly.
“India’s enhanced global position will boost investor confidence, leading to increased FDI, capital inflows, and a deeper integration with global value chains,” Khandelwal remarked.
According to him, the growing economy of India will facilitate the creation of more jobs and encourage youth entrepreneurship.
“It will also empower the government to invest further in modern infrastructure, smart cities, rural development, education, healthcare, and welfare schemes,” he asserted.
He indicated that India's ongoing advancements in digital innovation, fintech, AI, space research, and green technology will further enhance its global leadership in the years ahead.
“This is a moment of pride for every Indian. As India progresses, it stands as a beacon of opportunity, stability, and progress in an unpredictable global landscape,” Khandelwal stated.
Earlier in the day, NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer (CEO) B.V.R. Subrahmanyam announced that India has overtaken Japan to become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is now on track to surpass Germany for the third spot in the next 2.5 to 3 years.
