Greater Noida, Sep 25 (NationPress) Highlighting the imperative for India to achieve self-reliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Thursday that despite global challenges, the nation's growth trajectory remains both resilient and impressive.
During his keynote address at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 in this location, PM Modi noted that Russia serves as the partner country for this trade show, symbolizing the enhancement of this time-tested partnership.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, stating the vision to manufacture everything from 'chips to ships' within the nation.
Furthermore, PM Modi announced the imminent delivery of the first fully indigenous AK-203 assault rifles to the Army.
The Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL), a joint venture dedicated to the domestic production of the AK-203—dubbed 'Sher' in India—is situated in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The AK-203 rifles boast advanced features compared to the older AK-47 and AK-56 models, making them among the most effective rifles in the Kalashnikov series.
PM Modi further pointed out that Indian consumers now perceive swadeshi products as superior, user-friendly, and durable. “Therefore, we must not compromise on quality,” he stated, asserting the need for the country to be self-reliant and to manufacture all products that can be produced locally.
Upon his arrival to inaugurate the significant trade show, the Prime Minister toured the exhibition space, observing cutting-edge innovations spanning various sectors.
The third iteration of this grand event—initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath—will be held at the India Expo Centre and Mart from September 25 to 29, showcasing the state's industrial, agricultural, cultural, and innovative capabilities on an international platform.
This event is designed to highlight industrial advancements, foster trade partnerships, and attract investments. Participants will include business leaders, industry experts, startups, exporters, and government officials, with over 2,400 exhibitors and 125,000 B2B visitors anticipated to attend the trade show.
