International Delegation Urges Action Against Minority Suppression in Bangladesh, Calls on India for Intervention

New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) An assembly of Hindus and various religious minorities from the United States, Canada, and Europe convened at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia on Monday to discuss the dire circumstances facing minorities in Bangladesh. During this assembly, the delegates highlighted the pervasive violations against minorities in Bangladesh and demanded urgent measures to safeguard their rights.
In an interview with IANS, Global Bengali Hindu Coalition (GBHC) member Pushpita Guha voiced serious concerns regarding the treatment of Hindu women in Bangladesh. She lamented that Hindu women are subjected to horrific conditions, with frequent reports of sexual assaults and gang rapes. The local system appears ineffective in addressing these grievances. It is crucial to bring these incidents to light and seek justice when women endure sexual violence and torture. Women, who are the bearers of life, are being subjected to such indignities.
She further stated, "Often after being raped, women are poisoned, and before they die, they share their stories with their children. This scenario is not only tragic but deeply painful, occurring not just in Bangladesh but globally. If India aims to defend the rights of Hindu women in Bangladesh, it must take decisive action. India can play a vital role in saving these women. Even today, at the Bangladesh border, women and children are seen in distress, with their mothers fearing for their dignity. The female President of India should comprehend the plight of these women."
Pushpita Guha continued, "There was a harrowing case in Bangladesh where a woman kept her rape a secret until she was poisoned, and before succumbing to her fate, she recounted her ordeal to her son. Can you imagine the heartache? India has the capability to safeguard women in Bangladesh, as many women are found lying down or sitting with their young children at the borders, terrified for their dignity..."
Sushant Dasgupta also shared his perspective with IANS, mentioning that he is campaigning for the rights of minorities in Bangladesh. He stated, "If we travel to Bangladesh, we risk being detained at the airport. The government is aware of us and can arrest us. Therefore, we are narrating our story here in India to raise awareness regarding our challenges. Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists in Bangladesh are consistently labeled as 'Indians' and are compelled to fight for their rights."
Sitangshu Guha of GBHC expressed his alarm regarding the circumstances in Bangladesh, suggesting that India should regard Bangladesh as it does Pakistan, as it has become increasingly perilous. He pointed out the growing threat of Islamic terrorism in Bangladesh, which has emerged as a stronghold for terrorists. India must adopt stringent measures to combat Islamic terrorism and consider Bangladesh a hostile entity.
Previously, a press conference was held by the Global Bengali Hindu Coalition (GBHC) concerning the plight of Hindus, religious minorities, indigenous peoples, and tribal groups under the hostile and pro-Jihadi illegal government in Bangladesh.
