Hyderabad, Jan 13 (NationPress) The skies above Hyderabad have been transformed into a stunning spectacle as the Seventh International Kite and Sweet Festival kicked off at the Parade Grounds on Tuesday.
This three-day cultural event was officially inaugurated by Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
With participation from 40 international kite fliers representing 19 countries and 55 members from kite clubs across 15 states, this festival is part of the Sankranti celebrations.

Observing participants from 25 states and various international representatives today reflects our unity in diversity." Recalling his childhood experiences, he fondly remembered the joy and freedom associated with kite flying.
Furthermore, he shared the government's vision to boost local kite manufacturing in Hyderabad, stating, "Transitioning from imports to local production can generate significant employment opportunities for our youth." He reiterated that the government aims to enhance state revenue through tourism while creating livelihoods for local artisans and the unemployed.
Minister Jupally encouraged the public to incorporate travel into their routines, suggesting, "I urge everyone to explore tourist destinations at least twice a month. This not only offers mental relaxation but also supports the livelihoods of local artists, craftsmen, and small traders."
After the inauguration, the ministers toured the stalls, experiencing a diverse range of traditional delicacies from various Indian states, engaging with vendors and tasting unique sweets on display.
