Bengaluru, June 21 (NationPress) In commemoration of International Yoga Day, the Isha Foundation organized complimentary Yoga sessions for more than 10,000 defence personnel across India.

In total, upwards of 2,500 free sessions took place nationwide, garnering enthusiastic involvement from defence personnel, corporate employees, students, and civilians, as stated by the Isha Foundation on Saturday.

This extensive initiative was made feasible through the training of over 11,000 Yoga Veeras, who facilitated sessions both online and offline at various venues, including defence establishments, educational institutions, corporate offices, gyms, and correctional facilities. Furthermore, more than 2,000 youth ambassadors actively advocated for mental wellness, introducing Miracle of Mind, a simple yet impactful 7-minute guided meditation crafted by Sadhguru to empower users to manage their mental health, according to the Isha Foundation.

On this significant occasion, Sadhguru remarked on X, “Yoga is a framework that offers you the liberty to forge a life of conscious choices, unbound by compulsive thoughts and actions. Noteworthy sessions included a grand event at Sadhguru Sannidhi in Bengaluru, where over 5,000 defence personnel from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Border Security Force (BSF), and National Cadet Corps (NCC) took part. They were accompanied by more than 1,000 civilians, including students from local schools and colleges, as per the statement.

The Yoga sessions organized by the Isha Foundation also experienced widespread participation in various locations. In Sriganganagar (Rajasthan), 1,500 defence personnel engaged, while 900 Air Force members joined the session at the Jodhpur Airbase. Additionally, around 500 Army personnel participated in a session held in Pune, and 400 attended at Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur, as indicated.

At the renowned Adiyogi in Coimbatore, more than 200 personnel from the Indian Air Force (Redfields and Sulur Wing 43), the Army’s 35th Regiment (Madukkarai), and the Rapid Action Force (Vellalore) gathered for a powerful group Yoga session led by an Isha-trained instructor, according to the Isha Foundation.

Sessions were also conducted at esteemed institutions like IIT Chennai and leading corporate offices, including HDFC Bank, IBM, Godrej, HDFC Life Insurance, L and T, and Yes Bank, making simple yet profound yogic practices accessible to professionals across various sectors.
