Hyderabad, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Income Tax Department executed searches on Tuesday at the properties belonging to the esteemed film producer and Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) Chairman Dil Raju, along with his relatives and various other Tollywood figures.
Multiple teams of IT officials initiated concurrent searches early on Tuesday at various locations in Hyderabad.
The investigations took place at Dil Raju's residence in Ujas Villas, Jubilee Hills, as well as at the offices and additional properties of the production company Mythri Movie Makers.
It is reported that the IT officials were scrutinizing the financial dealings of Dil Raju and others associated with film production.
They were also inspecting bank lockers as a component of the inquiry.
Dil Raju's spouse was escorted to a bank where the lockers were opened with her present.
Dil Raju, whose birth name is V. Venkata Ramana, stands as one of the leading producers in Tollywood, with varied business ventures across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, which include film production, distribution, and real estate.
Last month, the Telangana government appointed him as the chairman of the State Film Development Corporation.
The IT searches are believed to pertain to Dil Raju's latest films 'Gama Changer' and 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' produced under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.
'Gama Changer', featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, was released on January 10 this year, while 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' premiered during the Sankranthi festival last week.
This film, starring Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, has emerged as one of the highest-earning films produced by Dil Raju.
