In Amaravati, on December 7, the president of the YSR Congress Party, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, is set to meet with Governor S. Abdul Nazeer on December 17 to deliver one crore signatures opposing the alleged privatisation of medical colleges by the TDP-led coalition government in the state.

During this meeting, the Governor will be made aware of the public dissent against the government's decision to privatise 10 newly established government medical colleges.

The appointment has been confirmed for 4 p.m. on December 17 by the Governor's office.

Jagan will be accompanied by key leaders and elected representatives from the YSR Congress Party.

This presentation is part of a statewide mass campaign against the privatisation move, with signatures collected from across Andhra Pradesh.

The signature documents from all 26 districts are being transported to Vijayawada in specially designated vehicles for the Governor's presentation.

According to YSR Congress Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the public response to this signature campaign has been remarkable.

He mentioned that support has been overwhelming from various segments of society, far surpassing expectations. More than one crore signatures were collected in just one week, with numbers still rising.

Sajjala has called on all party-affiliated wings to stay active and for Parliamentary Observers to work closely with local leaders to ensure maximum involvement at every level, from mandals to districts.

He announced that signatures would be submitted at the constituency level in December, at the district level on December 13, and the final representation will be given to the Governor on December 17.

He asserted that this represents one of the most well-organized and disciplined signature campaigns in the party's history, establishing a new model for public mobilization.

Sajjala urged leaders to promote the campaign widely in media and social platforms, ensuring that December 13 is marked by significant statewide demonstrations, with district rallies expected to gather more than 10,000 participants each.

He emphasized the need to document and digitize all signatures with the full support of the party.

He reminded party members that the campaign should reflect the people's clear opposition and highlight the long-term damage inflicted by N. Chandrababu Naidu's government on future generations.

Former Chief Minister Jagan is actively monitoring the movement, and it is the collective duty of every leader and cadre to inspire the public and uphold this historic struggle.

Initiated in October, the one crore signature campaign spans all 175 Assembly constituencies in the state.

Originally, the signatures were scheduled to be submitted on November 25, but the event was postponed due to cyclone Montha.
