Jammu, March 30 (NationPress) – On Monday, the J&K government executed a reshuffle involving transfers and postings of multiple IAS and JKAS officers, designating them to new departments and additional responsibilities.

An announcement from the General Administration Department (GAD) stated that these changes were made in the interest of effective administration and took effect immediately.

According to Government Order No. 501-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated March 30, several significant departments, including Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Agriculture Production, Information, and Tourism, have seen new officers assigned.

Nazim Zai Khan has been appointed as Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for Kashmir, while Dr. Sagar Doifode Dattatray has transitioned to the role of Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, where he will also oversee responsibilities related to HADP and JKCIP.

Additionally, Shreya Singhal will take on the role of Director of Information starting April 1, and Amit Gupta has been named Sub-Divisional Magistrate for Pahalgam.

In a separate appointment, Rajesh Kumar Shavan has been designated as Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for Jammu.

The order, which was issued by Commissioner/Secretary M. Raju, also involved adjustments and relieving of additional responsibilities for various officers.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha holds the authority to transfer and assign IAS/IPS officers in J&K, with law and order and security matters falling directly under his jurisdiction.

Officers within the local Revenue Department who possess magisterial powers and deal with law and order are also appointed by the Lt. Governor.
