Ranchi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, during his speech at the inaugural Special Session of the sixth Assembly on Wednesday, unveiled various significant initiatives on behalf of the Jharkhand government. Most notably, the Jharkhand administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has committed to offering 33 percent reservation for women in state government employment.

The Governor also stressed the administration's resolve to formulate a local policy for tribal communities and indigenous residents, assuring 100 percent reservation in third and fourth-grade government positions.

In presenting the state’s roadmap for development, the Governor pointed out that the central government and its organizations owe Jharkhand a total of Rs 1.36 lakh crore, and the state government will take legal action to reclaim this amount.

The address included initiatives aimed at promoting tribal languages, with plans to integrate Ho, Mundari, Kurukh, and other tribal languages into the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

Additionally, the Governor highlighted other significant commitments the state government aims to fulfill—such as providing interest-free loans to all farmers, offering free education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels, and implementing the Sarna tribal religion code.

Beginning his address, the Governor congratulated the newly-elected members of the Sixth Assembly and praised the smooth election process. He expressed optimism that the MLAs would work tirelessly to foster a prosperous and forward-thinking Jharkhand.

Key proposals from the prior Assembly, which include 28 percent reservation for tribals, 27 percent for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and 12 percent for Scheduled Castes (SCs), are currently awaiting approval from the Union Home Ministry. The Governor pledged to accelerate the approval process for these proposals.

The government has also promised to tackle the issues faced by Sahara India investors, outlining plans to assist affected investors, including families impacted by Sahara’s financial downturn. Legal efforts will be pursued vigorously to recover the funds of the people.

To aid farmers, the government intends to provide loans at a 0 percent interest rate and issue land receipts to farmers occupying non-cultivated lands.

For workers enrolled in MNREGA, the state aims to increase their wages, ensuring a minimum daily wage of Rs 350. Additionally, Rs 10,000 crore will be invested to utilize river and dam water resources more effectively.

The government has proposed the establishment of 500 CM Schools of Excellence equipped with health and music teachers, 4,500 Panchayat-level Adarsh Vidyalayas, degree colleges in each block, and polytechnics at the sub-division level.
