During the hearing of a habeas corpus petition, a Division Bench headed by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad summoned the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Jamshedpur to appear virtually and questioned why a First Information Report (FIR) had not been filed despite the petitioner submitting a formal complaint.
The woman accuses her brother, currently living in Australia, of falsely branding her as “mentally ill” through his influence, coercively admitting her to a mental health facility in Ranchi to seize their ancestral property.
