Ranchi, Oct 2 (NationPress) In a heartfelt tribute on Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren honored the two legendary figures with floral offerings at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi, Ranchi, on Thursday.
Governor Gangwar adorned the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with garlands and reflected on his enduring principles of truth, non-violence, and cleanliness.
“Bapu was a man devoted to the betterment of humanity. His sacrifices and dedication to social service continue to inspire generations,” he remarked.
The Governor also honored Lal Bahadur Shastri, characterizing him as a paragon of simplicity, honesty, and commitment to national service.
“Shastriji's famous phrase ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ resonates even today. His life of integrity and sacrifice will always motivate citizens to pursue the path of duty and service,” Governor Gangwar stated.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who joined the Governor in offering tributes, emphasized that Gandhi’s philosophy of truth and non-violence was not just the backbone of India’s freedom struggle but also remains vital in fostering a harmonious society.
“Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals still guide our nation and the world. I urge every citizen of Jharkhand to adopt his principles in their daily lives and aid in fortifying peace, brotherhood, and unity in society,” Soren urged.
Reflecting on Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Chief Minister noted that his life epitomized patriotism, simplicity, and steadfast commitment to public service.
“His values of duty and sacrifice should inspire us to work towards enhancing both Jharkhand and our nation,” he concluded.
